Information Technology for Visually Impaired People.
After the success of our Online Today sessions with the RNIB/Action for Blind People, we are now running a Touchscreen Technology Support Group for visually impaired people living in the Selby District. These sessions are informal social opportunity to meet, share ideas, hints and tips on IT.
On Thursday 11 May 2017 we started our 6 month touch screen technology course aimed to help visually impaired people living in the Selby area. The course is run by Danny the O2 Guru from the local O2 shop in Selby. The first session went extremely well and everyone got hands on and enjoyed the session, everyone looking forward to our next worlokshop in June.
O2 said "Learning how to use technology can often be a daunting process for many, even more so for individuals with a visual impairment. That's why we are delighted to be working closely with Selby District Vision to provide a free tech accessibility course led by our Selby O2 Guru Danny. Over the next six months we aim to educate people on how to make the most out of their devices by sharing top tips on how to change accessibility functions that can enhance their day to day life."
